Ashley is James Bay Cree with roots reaching back to Moose Factory, ON and Waskaganish, QC. With experience in non-profit organizations and First Nations business. Ashley is a strong business professional with an academic background in Bachelor of Commerce, Business Management, and Indigenous Studies. Ashley grew up in Moose Factory and her main focus is on economic development and healing for Indigenous people and aspires to provide services that are limited in the North. She aspires to help build a new narrative following the seventh generation principle by increasing sustainability, holistic healing, and self-sufficiency in Cree communities. Ashley’s inspiration is the youth, and diversity inclusions such as women in business. Ashley is founder and operator of Kiwetin Logistics within the consulting and construction sector.

Kiwetin translates to north-wind in Cree, a metaphor for trailblazing. In the spirit of trust with all clientele.

Established in 2019, with the intention to undertake, provide, and manage major and small projects in traditional territory, mobile, remote, and semi-remote areas either directly, through its subsidiaries or in partnerships.

In 2019 Kiwetin provided business planning and design for an Indigenous-made craft online shop which consisted of Tamarack Birds made by her late father Charlie Small, and Cree crafts.

Perimeter Aviation and Kiwetin Logistics entered into a JV with the contract of air services with Agnico Eagle.

Ashley also provided assistance for smaller projects such as design, proposals, business plans for Coastal communities and provided assistance to Wabano for events with Lululemon, and NYFW.
